Brother Rice is a college preparatory high school dedicated to providing our students with academic, athletic, extracurricular, and service experiences that will enhance their lives and prepare them for their future goals in college and beyond.
With a noted history of 99 percent four-year college placement, our graduates enroll in colleges and universities from coast to coast and internationally. While our admission rates to the most competitive colleges, are significantly above the state and national averages, our pride is in the successful matching of each student to colleges that meet his unique goals, needs, and criteria.
Housing: Students will reside in the Weiming Eastern Michigan Learning Center (WEMLC)
English as a Second Language programs: ESL support is provided two times a week as part of after-school programing.
Theology and Religion classes: Theology/Humanities classes are required for graduation.
Band of Brothers: The Band of Brothers system was created to emphasize the formation of the entire person. The program emphasis morality and integrity while strengthening a sense of community, promoting the development of relationships and enabling a more proactive development of leadership skills.
As part of the theological education at Brother Rice, each student must complete twenty (20) hours of Community Service work per school year, six (6) of which will be earned by student participation in our two all-school service days.
New S2TEM Academy offers students an enhanced opportunity to prepare for college and professional career requiring proficiency in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math
Brother Rice High School has an unprecedented record of success in state athletic competition with 65 team state championships in ten different sports over the past 40 years and more than 60 individual state champions in golf, wrestling, tennis, track, cross country, skiing and swimming.
